A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR OF TRINITY’S PERSONNEL TASK TEAM

Dear Trinity Family,

Each Year, the UMC Conference meets to consider pastoral appointments carefully. They make decisions for each Pastor and their church after many conversations, much discernment, and loving prayer. Today, I can share with you that God has called Pastor Matt & Billie to a new church home and that Pastor Matt’s last day with Trinity will be May 24th. We will be welcoming Reverend Daphne Johnson and her husband Frank to our Trinity family in July. During this transition, we have asked some of our Trinity family to help lead us in worship as Pastor Matt, and Pastor Daphne prepare for their new assignments.

We look forward to all of you meeting and getting to know more about our new Pastor in the next few weeks, and we can’t wait to all be worshiping together on our Trinity campus in the future. We realize that any transition in leadership may be surprising, confusing, or, to some, even upsetting. As members of our church and this community, Pastor Matt and Billie have been valued and much loved. They have touched our lives with their love and friendship, and Pastor Matt has provided much comfort to us with his sermons. On behalf of the Personnel Task Team, the Guide Team, the staff, and Pastors Matt, Daphne, and Rick, I want you to know that we trust the process in which appointments are made. We respect the decision of the Conference, and we firmly believe that God has led this entire process. While we will miss our friends Matt and Billie, we wish them all the best as they begin their new journey, and we are excited for the future of Trinity United Methodist Church!

Blessings,
Clara Padelford
